Sundance is a proud French Immersion School. Being part of the CBE’s alternative programs also involves appreciating and recognizing French culture.
Every year we love to recognize Carnaval, and la semaine de la Francophonie which are both French celebrations appreciating the arts and language. Bonhomme Carnaval will appear and is a well-loved mascot.
We are very fortunate this year to have a French-Canadian dance residency from La Girandole. Students will be learning about traditional dance, celebrating with some music by French artists, and many activities appreciating the French culture.
Culture plays a vital role in bringing students together at school by fostering a sense of belonging, understanding, and community.
On Friday, March 15, parents/guardians are invited to come along and watch students show their dance learning.
Times:
KD - Grade 3: 8:30-9:15am. Note: All KD classes are invited to perform. However, the Monday/Wednesday children should only arrive for the show, be accompanied by a parent/guardian and leave after the performance.
Grades 4-6: 10:00-10:45am
For more information on the residency, please visit the L'Association La Girandole ‘D’Edmonton website.
