Pink Shirt Day is a global movement that originated in Canada in 2007. It started with an act of kindness by two high school students in Nova Scotia who stood up against bullying. When a fellow student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school, they decided to act. They bought and distributed pink shirts to their classmates to show solidarity and support for the bullied student.
The significance of Pink Shirt Day lies in its message of standing up against bullying and fostering a culture of kindness and respect. By wearing pink shirts or participating in related activities, Sundance students and staff show their commitment to creating safe and supportive environments where everyone feels accepted and valued.
Wear Pink on Wednesday, February 28 and stand up against bullying.
