Dear Sundance Families,
As we approach our upcoming parent-teacher conferences on November 27 and 28, I want to take a moment to highlight the value of these important conversations. Conferences are a time for parents and teachers to connect about student learning, celebrating progress, discussing goals, and identifying ways we can work together to support each child’s growth.
Strong communication between home and school helps ensure that students know we are all on the same team. When students see their families and teachers sharing information, asking questions, and working in partnership, they feel supported and confident in their learning journey.
Together, we can make sure every student feels known, encouraged, and set up for success.
Remembrance Day Assembly: Thank you to all invited guests and families that were able to attend our Remembrance Day Assembly. We are grateful to have such a supportive community.
Parent Teacher Conferences, November 27 & 28, 2025: We are looking forward to seeing parents/guardians for our first in person conferences taking place November 27 & 28, 2025. Bookings, using MyCBE accounts, open at 9:00 am on Thursday, November 13 and close at 11:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26. Support on how to book a conference can be found here.
In addition to the regular grade 5 and 6 teachers, conferences will be available for those students who receive Math and French instruction with Mme. Hélène.
Note to Kindergarten families.... Additional conferences are available on Wednesday, November 26 during the school day. Please enter via the front door and let the office staff know you are here to meet your child’s teacher. Teachers will be hosting conferences in a different location in the building, (to be advised) on November 26 only, while classes continue as usual. On November 27 and 28, conferences will take place in the classrooms. Please ensure you book with the correct teacher and refer to communication coming soon from the Kindergarten teachers.
There is No School for all students on Friday, November 28.

Important Bus Information: We would like to remind parents of information sent to all families on August 22, 2025, explaining that communication regarding bus delays is sent directly from Southland Transportation and not the school. To receive this information, parents must sign up with My School Bus Monitor yearly and can register with MyBusStop to see a GPS location of the bus. A special code must be added and can be found within MyCBE accounts. As information changes frequently, Southland Transportation is in the best position to keep families up to date with bus delays.

Sundog lunches at Sundance School are back through Healthy Hunger! With the start of the new school year, you will need to re-register your children by adding them back to your account and assigning them to their new grade and classroom. More information found here.
The first Sundog Lunch is Subway, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, for all students. The Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten classes may sign up for a separate delivery on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. DEADLINE for ordering is Thursday, November 20. Payment is online, please see the 'Related Information' on the website news article, for details on how to set up/edit an account. This account is needed for participating in any Sundog Lunch or Snack and to participate in some school fundraisers.
Volunteers are needed for this exciting event. If interested/available, please use the sign-up. Please be advised that a current police clearance and completed annual volunteer paperwork will be required to assist with this event. For further details or instruction regarding this clearance process, please connect with the Sundance Volunteer Coordinator through volunteer.sundance@gmail.com.
If there are any parents that would be interested in assisting with creating a Sundog Lunch/Snack event for the school, School Council would be eager to hear from you via the Sundog Coordinator at sundoglunch@gmail.com.
Looking forward to another great year with Healthy Hunger! Proceeds earned through these events get directly reinvested back to Sundance School thanks to School Council.
