Hello Sundance Families!
The news you have all been waiting for is here. Yes, the Sundance Parents Association will be hosting our annual ‘Halloween’ Dance fundraiser. This year, we are adding a little Winter Wonderland to our Halloween Spookiness – join us for the first ever Holiday Mashup Dance. No Halloween costume, no problem, a holiday hat goes with everything!
When: Thursday, January 29, 2026. Doors open at 5:30pm, event wraps up at 7:30pm
Where: Sundance School (Thank You to our Admin and teachers who allow us to use the school to host this great event)
What do I need ? Everyone in attendance, (from babies to grandparents), to purchase an admission ticket – purchase yours here
What does SPA need? VOLUNTEERS. Without an amazing group of volunteers, we cannot bring this incredible event. Slots are kept to 45 minutes to allow you plenty of time to spend with your family. Sign-Up here.

Do you have any of the following items that we could borrow for the evening:
• Bats (hanging, stringed, single sitting bats)
• Icicles decorations, (lit/unlit, outdoor/indoor is fine)

Bring a cake for the Cake Walk, (store bought or homemade, any size, shape or flavor is welcome), see the sign up for more details.
Don’t forget to check out the Haunted House our Grade 6’s will be creating – every visit raises money for their Farewell celebration.
As always, we have a mix of fundraising events and free activities. All your favourites will be returning – colouring, crafts, games, snacks, glowsticks, photo booth and of course, dancing.
Profits go towards supporting our student activities and the Sundance Playground Fund.

Gingerbread House Contest:
Calling all bakers, builders, and candy architects! Students are invited to create a gingerbread-style house at home using only household food items, then bring it to school for judging. Prizes will be awarded for creativity, design, and overall “wow” factor.
The Rules (simple + important)
• Everything must be edible. If it can’t be eaten, it can’t be used.
• Food-only supports. No toothpicks, skewers, popsicle sticks, cardboard bases, or non-food decorations.
• Nut-free only. No nuts and no peanut butter.
Judging Categories (prizes!)
• Most Creative
• Best Winter Scene
• Spookiest (Halloween twist!)
• Best Overall
Build Ideas (kid-friendly + simple)
• “Glue” options: icing/frosting (store-bought or homemade), marshmallow fluff, melted chocolate (slightly cooled), melted mini marshmallows, honey (if your household uses it)
• Walls/roof: graham crackers, ginger cookies, chocolate wafers, cereal squares, shredded wheat, mini waffles
• Details: mini marshmallows, candy canes, chocolate chips, sprinkles, pretzels, popcorn, gummies, cereal loops
• Snow/ice: coconut “snow,” powdered sugar “frost,” white icing “drifts,” marshmallow snowmen
• Pathways: chocolate chips, crushed cookies, gummies, cereal
