Dear Sundance Families,
As we approach Support Staff Appreciation Week (April 20–24), we would like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of our Support Staff.
Our Office Staff, Educational Assistants, Lunchroom Supervisors, Facilities team, and Library Assistant each play a vital role in creating a caring, safe, and welcoming environment for all students. Whether they are supporting learning in the classroom, keeping our school running smoothly, caring for students during unstructured times, or maintaining our spaces, their work makes a meaningful difference every single day.
The relationships they build with students, their dedication, and their commitment to our school community do not go unnoticed. We are deeply grateful for all they do and the many ways they support both students and staff.
Please join us in thanking our support staff for the important work they do and for the positive impact they have on our school each day.
2026-27 Class Placements:
As we begin planning for the next school year, our staff will work collaboratively to create balanced and supportive class groupings for students in Grades 1–6. Over the coming months, teacher teams will gather and review student information to support this process.
Class placement is thoughtful and intentional. Classroom teachers possess a wealth of professional knowledge and experience, which they use to make informed decisions that best meet the needs of students at our school.
As part of this process, students will have an opportunity to share the names of their peers with whom they feel they have positive learning connections. We encourage you to have a conversation with your child about making thoughtful choices. While student voice is valued, it is one of many factors, and specific placements or groupings cannot be guaranteed.
We kindly ask that families do not request specific teachers. Our team is committed to making placement decisions that support both individual student success and the overall balance of each classroom.
If you have specific concerns, questions, or circumstances that may significantly impact your child’s learning, we encourage you to connect with your child’s teacher no later than May 1, 2026.
Learning to adapt to new environments, peers, and teachers is an important part of student growth. We are confident that this careful and collaborative process will support a successful year ahead for all students.
Thank you for your continued support and collaboration.
Wellness Fair: The Sundance School N'STEP student team is excited to organize for the fourth year, a Wellness Fair on Friday, May 1, 2026.
The event will commence with a short kick off assembly in the gym at 8:15am.
There will be 15 activities led by our N'STEP leader students and parent volunteers. These activities will be organized in three categories: calm, informative and active. There will be five rotations throughout the morning, so each class has a chance to do at least one activity from each category. Students will also have the opportunity to taste frozen grapes and rice crackers during our snack attack.
The event will not be possible without the help and hard work of our amazing volunteers. Please use the sign-up if you are available to help. A valid police check and the annual volunteer paperwork completed are required to be able to volunteer. If you have any questions regarding your volunteer status, please email volunteer.sundance@gmail.com
