Be a Good Ancestor. Laisse un bel héritage.

A Message of Thanks. It was wonderful to see families at our assembly inspired by Be a Good Ancestor / Laisse un bel héritage. Thank you for taking the time to join us as we celebrated our staff, our students, and the values that help make our school community so special.

Our message to students was simple: the choices we make today matter. By showing kindness, respect, and care for one another, we can each help leave a positive legacy and create a place where everyone feels they belong.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school community.

A Heartfelt Thank You: A sincere thank you to our School Council and Parents Association for organizing such an incredible Halloween Dance! It was wonderful to see so many students and families come together for an evening filled with fun, laughter, and school spirit.

Events like this are only possible because of the many volunteers who generously give their time and energy. Thank you to everyone who helped with planning, set-up, activities, clean-up, and all the details in between.

We are also so grateful to all of our families who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. Your participation and support are what makes our Sundance school community so special.

Halloween at Sundance: On Friday, October 30, students are invited to dress in their Halloween costumes. If your child chooses to participate, please send them to school dressed in a costume that is comfortable for them to wear for the whole morning. No costumes that impact learning such as those that include weapons, masks or face coverings, or of a violent or gory nature. Inflatable costumes must be easily deflated for safety.

We ask that parents not send candy, food or other items, as we cannot distribute or share them with students as per CBE Nutrition Guidelines in Administrative Regulation 3047.

The Monday/Wednesday Kindergarten students will be invited to wear their costumes on Wednesday, October 28, should they choose to participate.

SAVE THE DATE! - Winter Music Showcase for families of students in Grades 3, 4, 5 & 6. December 3, 2026. More details to come!

As the weather changes: As we move towards winter, the Calgary weather becomes more changeable, and we would like to remind parents to dress children accordingly. Children go outside for recess, phys ed and lunch until the weather reaches –20 degrees including windchill. We will start to see more winter coats and boots worn daily, so another reminder that children must remove their outer footwear when entering the building to help keep our hallways clean. We have very few changes of clothes available to offer to students, so if your child is likely to get wet when playing outside, please remember to pack a change of clothes. Thank you.

Created by Kids New Playground Fundraiser: We are excited to send home your child's artwork as part of our Created by Kids fundraiser.

Action: Families can order a variety of keepsake products featuring their child's artwork, while supporting the Sundance School New Playground Fundraiser. Art will be coming home soon! Check your child's backpack.

Follow the ordering instructions included on the artwork page.

Important:

1. Place your order as directed within the package

2. Return the original artwork to your child's classroom on or before Tuesday, November 3, 2026

3. Orders cannot be completed if the artwork is not returned

These keepsakes make wonderful gifts and lasting memories of your child's creativity and hard work. Every item is personalised! Greeting cards, mugs, Iphone covers, calendars, prints, puzzles and more!
