It was wonderful to see so many of our Sundancer families at the Open House! Thank you for taking the time to connect with your child’s teacher, explore the school, and be part of our Sundance community.
Our theme this year, inspired by Be a Good Ancestor, reminds us that the choices we make today can have a lasting impact on those around us and those who come after us. One of the most important ways we can make a difference is through connection, belonging, and community.
When home and school work together, our students feel supported, valued, and connected. Open communication between families and teachers helps us better understand our students, celebrate their successes, and work together when challenges arise.

Snack Time for Students: A reminder that students still have snack time on Fridays, so please remember to provide a nut-free snack in their backpack. Thank you.
Scholastic Book Fair: Thank you to all the parents and staff who made our Scholastic Book Fair a huge success!
We had sales of over $3600, which allows us to purchase almost $1200 worth of books for our learning commons. Our next Scholastic Book Fair will be in March, 2027.
Parent Resources: The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community.
Under 'Related Information' on the Parent Resources Website Page, there is a CBE Caregiver Series 2026 poster with sessions designed to provide families with knowledge, tools, and strategies to help navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today. Along with the poster, additional session details are available on the CBE website: Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Series.
Welcoming, Caring, Respectful, Safe Learning Environments and Progressive Discipline : The CBE Progressive Student Discipline Philosophy is a school-wide approach to addressing student behaviour that helps to foster welcoming, caring, respectful and safe learning environments.
