Be a Good Ancestor. Laisse un bel héritage.
Dear Sundance Families,
Regular school attendance is essential for your child’s success, both now and in the future. Here are some simple tips to help support your child’s attendance:
- Show interest in your child’s day by listening and talking with them about school
- Encourage and praise your child for their efforts and achievements at school
- Maintain healthy routines such as eating breakfast, turning off electronics two hours before bedtime, and ensuring your child goes to bed early
- Schedule appointments (like dental or medical visits) after school hours or on days off whenever possible
- Send your child to school unless they are sick
- If your child is often sick, reluctant to attend, or struggling with schoolwork, it may be a sign of a bigger concern
- Reach out to us for help—no problem is too small. We are here to work with you to find solutions and support your child’s attendance
Thank you for partnering with us to help your child succeed!
Thank you! Thank you to all of our Sundance families in attendance at our first School Council and Parent’s Association meetings. Thank you to our School Council and Parent’s Association for sponsoring our teacher dinner at our Open House. We are so appreciative!
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation/Orange Shirt Day: On Tuesday, September 29, we will be hosting our assembly for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation/Orange Shirt Day. The assembly will begin at 9 am.
There will be whole school songs performed by all and accompanied by Grades 3, 5, and 6, along with Choir Club and Percussion Club.
Parents are invited to join us. Please feel free to wear an orange shirt in support of the assembly.
Demographic Forms: A reminder that we still have a number of mandatory demographic verification forms outstanding for 2026-2027. We must review and process every form and submit them to Alberta Education by September 30, 2026. These forms directly link to school funding. If you have received an email from the school in the past few days, please follow the directions in the email and submit your child’s demographic information, even if it has not changed.
